Checking Off the Truck
At the beginning of each shift, each ambulance crew checks the inventory of their ambulance to ensure that it is fully stocked and ready to respond to an emergency call. During the check off, the crew restocks any missing items, checks expiration dates on medications, and tests the functionality medical equipment. In addition, the driver checks fluid levels, tire pressure, emergency lighting and sirens, and readiness.
